Advice: keep reading. The best is at the end.Leonardo’s breadth of talent can only be captured by an author with similar breadth.Like Leonardo, Jerzy (Yurek) Kulski is a multi-lingual, multi-disciplinary, citizen of the world given to invention and is available as a gun-for-hire problem solver. As a virologist, Yurek has addressed major issues related to HPV and retroviruses, new concepts in evolution, to say nothing of emerging techniques in DNA sequencing and analysis. As an author and ghost writer, he has taught literally hundreds how to think, write and publish whilst producing his own Flickr Photos, film script, crime novel and now a “historical novel” based on Leonardo’s art, working drawings, anatomical sketches, recipes, epistles, treatises and musings. There are hot spots for every reader and especially admirers of Benjamin Franklin, who like Leonardo, combined discovery with homely advice and international diplomacy. And then chapters 27 and 28, where the reader will discover Leonardo’s prescient ideas on geology, theology and evolution and will wonder what happened to these during the three centuries before Charles Lyell, the Darwins and Alfred Russell Wallace.
